Decent Stihl battery - Lithium-ion - though heavy - better than an AK20.
Lasts about 20 - 25 mins in a modern Stihl mower mower - a bit longer in a strimmer. The issue is that this is barely enough for a decent sized lawn - mowing that needs two batteries effectively.. The AK 30 takes a fair time to charge up (3.5 hours), though uses little electricity to do so. Cutting the same lawn with a regular ICE powered mower uses <0.5litre of petrol - ie about 70 pence worth. So at £140 a go, that makes 200 uses to recoup the cost of the battery! This is the great myth about 'electric gardening' - it's really expensive....
Good service and pricing from Ernest Doe though - it's not their fault that all this all this stuff is such a con. I'll stick with a lawn mower with a proper engine form most of my mowing tasks!
