A Century of Service by Alan E Doe The Story of a Century with Ernest Doe

A book detailing the history of Ernest Doe, up to 1998.

On 24th June 1898 Ernest Doe signed a lease Agreement for the Blacksmith Shop at Ulting.

From this modest beginning of shoeing horses and repairing implements, the name Ernest Doe has spread throughout the South East of England - starting with two hundred employees and growing to four hundred and sixty five in 1998!

Farming has changed beyond all recognition during this time as the book shows - whether it was for the good or not, we have played an important part in these changes.

We are proud to have served our customers for the past 100 years but now our sights are set firmly on the future.
